Chevy Aveo

The Chevy Aveo was started in Production in 2004, and is still currently in production in 2008. Being an GM technician, I have found that you get what you pay for. This being said, The Chevy Aveo is a cheap yet fuel efficient car. Simple engine and transmission 4 cylinder E-tech motor, small transmission behind it. This is a cheap simple car! As a technician, i see the problems with the vehicles on a daily basis. The Aveo is a great car, but is cheaply designed. Starting price range for a base model Aveo is between $10,000 and $14,000 New. I dont know for sure what the resale value is, but im sure it is quite low. From what i have seen, people buy these cars, drive them until they are out of warranty, then sell them to people who dont know any better! As long as they have the warranty to get them fixed for free, they have no problem driving the vehicle! But once they have to start paying cash out of pocket to fix things on the Aveo, they want to get rid of the car!
I have seen engines that have scored the cylinders in 20k miles as much as an engine with 300k miles should have for scoring.
I have heard may stories about these Aveo's, and i'd love to hear more stories, so feel free to share if you wish!

Chevy Volt Economical Transportation

The Chevrolet Volt is a will infact change the standard for personal transportation when it hits the streets in late 2010 early 2011. If you haven't heard, the Chevrolet Volt is the latest and greatest "electric car!" General Motors, the leader of the automotive industry has been working hard on this electric car for years now! They are happy to announce that this new vehicle will be able to get 150 miles per gallon of fuel. The vehicle is built on a platform that contains a 3 cylinder Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) along with a turbo-charger. A 12 gallon fuel tank to store the fuel for trips longer than 40 miles. The Volt uses its engine not to convert power to the wheels, but to charge the cars battery pack. The battery pck then powers electric motors on each wheel. Plug the Volt in over night, wake up and drive 40 miles before the engine kicks on to start charging the battery. This meaning that some people might not ever have to buy gas again. depending on their commute! There are currently 41,000 people on the waiting list to purchase the Chevy Volt. Cutting back on Gas and getting great milage using electricity is what the economy needs! Also pollution will greatly drop by 4.4 metric tons per year for every Volt sold
